I spent a very enjoyable week last week speaking and touring. I was invited to present at the Central Region SharePoint Conference 2010 on Monday April 12th and Tuesday April 13th. On April 14th I presented in Louisville, KT as a guest of Aspect (formerly Quilogy). The folks there were very good to me and certainly liked the “manage projects on SharePoint” message. At the Louisville session the particular group we had was not at all using SharePoint to manage projects – not even one person. I then rose to the challenge of promoting SharePoint as such a platform. By the end of the session – every one in the session was going to try SharePoint out. Missionary work! Mind you I tried to get a hotel room in Louisville for the first week of May (the Kentucky Derby) to no avail!
You can see the presentation for yourself Louisville Slides ... and maybe you can get me a room for Derby week!
As the week ended, I was sitting on the plane in Newark ready to head to Europe on Friday night at 8pm – heading to work with our engineering crew to plan the next release – and the captain got a message to say we needed to wait a few more hours before we departed – and now I am still here in NY! Looks like I am here until next weekend at a guess. As they say these days … there is always a silver lining to every (volcanic ash) cloud! I get to work with our partners and customers in NY for a week unexpected and as well as this my son now works here – so he and I get to hang out lots.
