Manage Projects on SharePoint

Royal Weddings and The Cycle of Life

Apr-292011

Naturally enough this article has nothing to do with the Royal Wedding – except that I wonder was I in the minority not watching it today and working instead!  I did of course think about the young prince who has progressed to marriage and it only seems a few short years since he was in the press as a youngster.  The cycle of life wheels on.  Enough!

To other lifecycles.  A customer asked us to walk them through the lifecycle of Project Management – from the idea of a project – through the approval and initiation – and then onto the project setup, launch and management and eventual close.  The customer also wanted us to cover this in the context of using SharePoint.  It was  a very relevant topic to cover.

Earlier this week we delivered a webinar on this very topic.  It was well received and is worth a watch if you get a chance.

Live Webcast: Managing the Entire Project Lifecycle Using SharePoint

Many organizations experience delays at various points throughout the project lifecycle.  Microsoft SharePoint is a collaborative solution that can be used to eliminate these delays at any stage in that lifecycle, from project initiation to closure.  In reality, different projects and different stages of the project require differing amounts of process and collaboration, making SharePoint the perfect solution.  SharePoint can be customized and extended with templates and reporting to become a powerful project management tool, providing the necessary structure to successfully manage a project throughout its entire lifecycle
